Game Day Mom Essentials
Game Day!!!! Seahawks vs. Chargers and both offense and defense have found their rhythm. I really think they could make it to the Super Bowl this year, I am putting that into the universe right now. With the Seahawks I know that we are very lucky because the team offers daycare for the games for staff and players, it’s for up to two children (reminder I have four!) but it works out because the twins go to the daycare and Zoey and Yasi come with me. And yes I have taken the twins to a game before and they were in complete shock and amazement seeing the whole stadium, their daddy’s name called, and seeing him on the screen it was the best reaction ever. Zoey is a pro football game day kid, she has been going to games since she was two!
Our routine usually starts with Q coming home in the morning of game day and we all ride together in the car to the games. Lately though we have been having Q catch an Uber and me and the kids drive to the game a little later, it helps with my sanity!!! Before we use to head to the stadium when he went and sometimes be there 3 hours before a game started…. 3 kids by myself was hard the first year, 3 kids by myself and pregnant last year was even harder, so 4 kids and me by myself.. yeahhhh we had to change up how before the games went! So this year the change up has been working for us!
Kids
For games each kid has a clear mini backpack (hello Target $1 section!!) works out great makes it so much easier going through security, here is this one from Amazon but this backpack I think is super cute/fun for girls (I know my twins would love it). The twins usually can put whatever they want in their bag since they go to the daycare (it’s called the Little Hawks Room) and its super fun in there and have a new theme each week so they don’t need a whole bunch of stuff packed! For Zoey I have her pack a kindle or her phone (do not freak out it is one of Q’s old phones and has games that is about it! She cannot text or call on it) sometimes both in case battery dies out, a sparkling ICE drink, marker and a little notebook. We use the markers and notebook so she can draw, play hangman, tic-tac-toe, and she even likes doing math problems in it. They each also get the treat of getting a lunchable, saves me the hassle of either making everyone food or buying everyone food.
Uniqlo Sweatpants seriously the best for night games!!!! And on sale online only.
Mom and Baby
Every game I have to have a bag (I don’t get to be cute and only have a tiny purse… one day one day) and use to just use the team clear bag from the Pro Shop but recently I bought this bag, holding a baby (use a carrier more on that a little farther down), walking up/down stairs, having Zo AND A GAZILLION PEOPLE walking around means not always the easiest carrying a bag on your arm, so this one is a crossbody! Tomorrow it will be my first time using it and I seriously got it because it said it could fit 6 water bottles. I will let you know if it was worth the buy! I have also been following on Instagram SheerGear which I have not gotten one YET, I know I have seen other women have one and I think the bags are super super cute and I love me some small independent mama owned businesses. Yasi is spoiled in the sense that we never really had money when it was the girls so we made do, (sidenote: I am a COMPLETE thrifty shopper I do love nice things but to this day I still buy a bulk of my kids clothes at used kids clothing places and sell them) so for this baby I invested in a great baby carrier. He is the 4th so he gets carried around a lot but let me tell you this is worth every penny and he just loves being snuggled up to me, gives me great back support, and it lets me be hands free. With the combo of the baby carrier and cross-body bag I hope this is just gonna make it even easier at games! Yasi for him I keep it simple, bottles (2 sometimes 3), baby crackers, toys(2), diapers(2), WIPES (those are for me Yasi and Zo), extra clothes, and blanket. I have previously used headphones for him but he just pulls them off so not worth the extra to bring now. Ok that actually sounds like a lot but trust me I have got it down to a science and anyone with kids knows you really could bring maybe a 1,000 things more. Oh and having friends sitting around you is always a plus for extra hands!!! But we also usually tend to get really lucky and have super nice people around us. Lastly me I really do not need much for games mainly wallet, carmex (I am an addict), my favorite lip gloss not always this color depends on my mood, these are my favorite leggings to wear to games (again I like nice things sparingly so these are pricey BUT they just feel like butter with pockets!!) and a water bottle because they cost so freaking much at the game. Also I love finding older Seahawks gear, clothing that I won’t really see other people have and this place is one of my favorites to find that kind of stuff.
Lets go 12s!!!!!!!!!!!
